"Well, I wondered the same thing," says Sandi Wickersham, 
 Founder of Wickersham Design Maui's freshest & most creative interior design company, & Nest, her Beach Style furniture & home decor store.
 
She quotes: "One of the biggest challenges for me to provide the level of design service in Maui has been finding the kind of furniture & accessories to use in my interior design & home staging projects. Granted, the thing we all love about Maui is that there is not a big box chain store on every corner.  Shopping small stores has always been a priority to me, the unique smaller shops where you are greeted with a smile & good service not only helps keep Maui 'small town' but supports moms & pops rather than megacorporations. However, this love affair we have with our little rock in the middle of the Pacific, has a flip side. Why can't we have all those beautiful things we see in our favorite magazines & catalogs? 
 
 With a background in art & design & many years experience in home store retail on the mainland I was exposed to a vast array of beautiful home decor items, furniture, lamps, rugs & truly unique design elements. I established relationships with designers & manufacturers who offered better options, the kinds of things I knew that my fellow Mauians would appreciate...so I launched forward opening Nest in the fall of 2008, with the vision that it would not only fill my needs but help people feather their nests as well!"...SW
